Birmingham, a Crane Dismantles its Sibling at Three Arena Central - May 2019

Cranes Across the City

It seems that wherever you look nowadays there's a crane in view across Birmingham, and whilst they may be considered boring by lots, there are many people who are very interested in them. If nothing else, we think they can be a great subject for photographers. Shown above is the installation of the very tall crane for Bank Tower Two on Broad Street in November. Here is a gallery of photos of cranes from the last year or so on various major construction sites. An unusual sight, all the cranes at the Smethwick Super Hospital face in the same direction during the high winds in October.

Not the tallest crane, but this one at the construction of the Unite Union HQ in Aston has a huge reach.

Before the main construction cranes go in, moble ones start with the preparation and early stages, here the two at Paradise Birmingham rest during a break at One Chamberlain Square.

The cranes at Three Snow Hill, one is tethered to the core for extra support and stability.
