In brief

The Rest House in Bournville was erected in 1914 to commemorate the silver wedding anniversary of George and Elizabeth Cadbury.  The building was designed by the architect W. Alexander Harvey.

It is now home to the Bournville Carillon Visitor Centre.

It is a Grade II listed building.

There are plaques inside that mark the Cadbury's opening of their chocolate factory in 1879, the firm founded by John Cadbury in 1831.There is also a commemoration to George Cadbury and his wife.

Outside there is a blue plaque from the Birmingham Civic Society, installed in 1989, to mark the Bournville Building Estate created by George Cadbury in 1895.
